Can a Wi-Fi relay make my existing wall switch smart?+

Yes. Compact relays such as the Sonoff Mini-Dim and the Luxion Mini Smart Relay (LX-WF-TDQ-AY1G) fit behind an existing switch, so you keep using the switch while adding app, schedule and voice control. Because this involves fixed wiring, have a qualified electrician install it following DEWA, ADDC/AADC or SEWA rules.

Which Sonoff relays are available for UAE homes?+

The range includes the Sonoff Basic R2, Dual R3 and Dual R3 Lite, 4CH R3 and 4CH Pro R3, POW R3 and POW Elite (16A and 20A), THR316, THR316D and THR320D, Mini-D, Mini-Dim, iFan03 and the SPM-Main. Most are controlled through the eWeLink app.

Do these relays work with Alexa and Google Home?+

Many do. For example, the Sonoff Mini-D, Mini-Dim and 4CH Pro R3, the Luxion Mini-Smart Relay and the Tellur Wi-Fi Smart Relay list Amazon Alexa and Google Home support. The Mini-D also works with Apple Home and Home Assistant. Check each product's specifications, as support varies by model.

Can I monitor energy use with a smart relay?+

Yes. The Sonoff POW R3, POW Elite R3 (16A and 20A), Dual R3 and SPM-Main include power metering. The Luxion 63A 2-pole Wi-Fi smart circuit breaker also offers energy monitoring through the Smart Life / Tuya app.

Is there a Wi-Fi relay for garage doors or ceiling fans?+

Yes. The Luxion Smart Garage Door Relay (LX-BG-WG001) offers schedules, scenes and phone notifications when the door opens or closes. For dry-contact controls, the Sonoff Mini-D is an option. The Sonoff iFan03 adds app and voice control, timers and speed adjustment to a ceiling fan.

Can Sonoff relays be used outdoors or in a DIN panel?+

Sonoff IP66 waterproof enclosures are available to protect Sonoff relays in outdoor and humid locations. The Sonoff DR DIN rail bracket mounts models such as the Basic, POW and Dual in an electrical panel. Panel work should always be done by a qualified electrician.
